About Me
As a professional creative based in Cornwall, I specialise in photography and filmmaking, with a deep-rooted passion for conservation and the natural world. Honing my craft at Falmouth University, I obtained a BA in Marine and Natural History Photography, equipping me with the expertise to capture the beauty and intricacies of the natural world.
I am a qualified volunteer Marine Mammal Medic with the British Divers Marine Life Rescue, a charity that rescues seals, dolphins and whales. I regularly respond to emergency call outs to seal pups and stranded cetaceans and am a trusted member of this first response team of medics.
As someone who is dyslexic, dyspraxic, and autistic, I have faced numerous challenges throughout my life due to the way my brain processes information differently from neurotypical individuals. As a passionate advocate for neurodiversity, I strive to educate others about the importance of embracing and accommodating individuals with diverse neurological profiles in all aspects of society. By challenging misconceptions and promoting acceptance and understanding, I work towards creating a more inclusive world where everyone's unique abilities are valued and celebrated. Through my personal experiences and advocacy work, I hope to inspire others to embrace their own neurodivergent identities and advocate for greater acceptance and support for individuals like myself.
My journey into photography started when my family gave me a 35mm Canon SLR for my 16th birthday. From that point forward, I dedicated myself wholeheartedly to the pursuit of becoming a professional photographer, driven by a steadfast determination to turn my dream into reality.
My work now encompasses moving image and I have made a number of short films including the very popular ‘Sensory World’, which describes what it is like to have a sensory overload, and ‘Seal Rescuers’ which was made in collaboration with British Divers Marine Life Rescue and Cornwall Seal Group Research Trust. Most recently, I have worked on projects with Cornwall Wildlife Trust and Your Shore Network to create films such as - Seagrass in Mounts Bay, showcasing the beauty and importance of seagrass ecosystems in Mounts Bay area. I enjoy working with friends and on my latest projects, I turned to my friend Claire’s Conservation Media for assistance.
Feel free to contact me if you want more information about myself or are interested in collaborating on a project or commission together.
